CityReach Care Society is a charity based in Vancouver, dedicated to helping people prosper by meeting tangible needs and fostering hope in the community. Serving thousands of vulnerable individuals, children, and families across Greater Vancouver, CityReach has helped Generational Hearts connect with senior homes to strengthen our community.
Food Link Society is British Columbia’s largest food recovery charity. Over the past year, the organization rescued more than 2 million pounds of surplus food, operated across 11 cities with 25 distribution sites, and supported over 107,000 individuals. Powered by a team of more than 420 volunteers, Food Link Society is turning food waste into food security, environmental action, and stronger, healthier communities. Generational Hearts receives the ingredients to make and share food with seniors through our partnership. Their contributions allow us to serve food and foster connections that spark conversation and joy.
Cascade Gardens Seniors Community is a 60-bed long-term care facility in Burnaby, BC, providing compassionate, person-centered care to seniors with complex health needs. The home offers a multicultural environment with staff fluent in languages such as Finnish, Tagalog, Chinese, Hindi, Punjabi, and Japanese.
Generational Hearts collaborates with Cascade Gardens by organizing regular visits where youth volunteers engage residents in interactive activities, share food, and foster meaningful conversations, enriching the lives of both generations.
Broadway Lodge is a long-term care home in Vancouver that provides personalized, compassionate care to seniors in a warm and inclusive environment. With private rooms, 24-hour nursing, it fosters a sense of community and dignity for all residents.
Generational Hearts partners with Broadway Lodge to host regular visits where youth volunteers lead interactive activities and engage in meaningful conversations to build intergenerational connections.
Vancity is providing funding to support our senior home events, helping make these gatherings possible and sustainable. Their generous contribution allows us to plan and host meaningful programs that enrich the lives of our residents. These funds are allocated toward creating stimulating and engaging experiences for seniors, including arts and crafts sessions, shared meals, interactive activities, and wellness-focused programs.
Through their support, we are able to foster social connection, creativity, and a sense of community among our seniors. Their partnership not only enhances the quality of our events but also ensures that our residents continue to feel valued, supported, and engaged.
